Answers:
1.What type of freebies do you look for in general magazines?
I like posters and perfume samples.
2.What type of posters of artists do you look for?
I like posters of artists like one direction, Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran, Imagine dragons, Fall out boy, F.U.N, artists that I listen to that are current.
3.Do you tend to read music magazines, if yes what makes you interested in them, if no, what puts you off reading them?
No I don’t tend to read them because I tend to look at the pictures instead.
4.Would you be interested in reading about the history of other bands/artists, which have possibly split up, to know what they have done since? This would be bands and artists such as Ellie Goulding, F.U.N or My Bloody Valentine.
No not really, because I feel that its more important reading or looking into what they are doing now, rather than what they did in the past. I just feel like it just better if you know what they are doing now, like tour dates you wouldn’t want to know about tour dates of what they did back then, you would rather know what tour dates they are doing now.
5.Would you find it more convenient if the magazine was able to be for download via an app, a hard copy or be accessible to read online? Why?
I think it can be both because I feel that if it was online it could be convenient for other people because you could them obviously get it on your phone but I just personally prefer if it’s a hard copy, because I just prefer reading it that way.
6.Would you like to be given the option to write to the magazine, to state opinions on different bands and topics that are covered in the issue?
Yeah I think that that would be a good idea because them people can write in and say what they like and what they don’t like and yeah I think that’s important, I think it would be a good thing to do.
7.Would you prefer to have a music magazine about one band or artist specifically or for the magazine to cover a wider range of artists/bands?
For the magazine to cover a wide rage of artists and bands, because I listen to so much music, I wouldn’t want to just buy one magazine with one of the people that I like in it, I would like it to have all the people I like in it, adds variety.
Analysis:
From competing this interview, I have decided to include posters into my magazine, as this links into the music industry and it seems to be a popular free gift that people look for, from my questionnaires and this interview has proven it. I will ensure that the posters that are included are similar artists that people look for, the examples from above, are the ones that I will look for. From this interview i will not include history of bands, because it isn't of interest to my target audience and therefore will not receive sales from it. however I will ensure that tour dates are included as they are of interest to my target audience, and i think it will be beneficial to add them. After completing this interview i have decided to add in a number of artists to my magazine as this is of interest as my target audience seem to not what to know just about one specific artist as it means my magazine will be about one artist specifically. I may also decide to add certain links to the contents page of my magazine and the purpose of this is to allow people to voice there opinions through these sites and there they will be able to add what they like and didn't like about the context of the magazine, which can then be changed or added to gradually improve my magazine for the future, possibly earning higher amounts of sales.
