Front Cover
Feedback
The feedback that I received for my front cover, was that I have included all relevant information such as the barcode etc and there is a good use of composition throughout. I have also got a good amount of information on the page but it's not to the extent that it creates an overcrowding effect. However, it is not made clear which is the main feature article, therefore I considered moving the main feature article, but I chose to leave it in the bottom right hand corner due to it being eye-catching. Finally the last piece of feedback that I received was to re-consider the link between the image and text on the cover, because the audience would expect the picture to link to an article that I have featured around the side. Therefore I considered the overall effect and decided that it all goes together nicely and tie in with 'Eleanor Gold' and the pink colours.
Analysis
I would class this image as a medium shot (MS) because its taken from a distance, however the details are still clear. I have cropped this image from the original photo taken, because i felt that it would help to draw the attention into the band and lighting and I also cropped it to the part where the crowds hands are in the air more, to create the music crowd, concert effect. I also made sure that the bands logo and the band themselves, were mostly centre placed to make it clear, organised and effective, to create a better look, compared to if it was placed more to the left or right, it would look out of place.
Decisions
To begin with I chose the main image, central to the page, because I feel that it clearly demonstrates the music and concert feel, which relates to my whole magazine. Also because of the crowds arms and hands, which help create the overall atmosphere for a live concert back in September 2013 just as I started the media course, therefore straight away the audience will exactly know what type of magazine this is targeting. This image is my own original image that I took at a concert in September 2013, at Wembley Arena when going to see Paramore live, which is from the original band.
I also made sure that below the image I could black it all out so there is space for clear fonts and styles, also so that the white writing would clearly stand out. The reason why I chose to edit this image for a more pinky florescent colour was because I noticed when completing my research them particular colours were prominent in the Indie Pop genre, therefore it will suit it well. Also the reason why I chose to add the slightly bigger + icon, was because it makes it seem that you are gaining an extra item after purchasing the magazine, also this is in blue, so that it help to tie it all together with the other colours used such as those used in the title, and it makes it stand out a lot, so the audience recognise clearly that you will be getting both after purchasing the magazine. The reason I added the exclamation mark at the end of the subheading at the top of the title, was because it will help to attract the audiences attention, as they will look at the title first of all and then see the bold, capital font writing at the top.
