Indie Pop Magazines
On this front cover is Lana Del Rey, through a medium close up, as she is also classed as an indie pop solo artist, and is well known therefore the audience will easily recognise her and therefore take interest to what the articles etc, is about and want to read on and take an insight on. The main colours used on this cover include, red, pink, grey, yellow and white, which all stand out and contrast nicely against one another. These colours help reflect the genre of music, as one of the conventions for indie pop magazines, is that the colours are mostly all bright, vibrant and stand out for the audience, to capture their attention well. |
One this front cover is another iconic figure, Florence and the Machine, another artist which fits into the indie pop genre of music. Once again, the reasoning behind using iconic figures, is so that they easily stand out to the audience and will be easily attracted as they know that during the whole magazine there will be an article or something similar about that particular artist featured on the front cover. The main colours used on this front cover include, red, white and black, which all contrast well together, especially the white against Florence's red hair, which makes it stand out nicely, and therefore easy to read, through the use of the bold font and text styles. |
